Hello friends and family! This update will be brought to you by yours truly, JD. We have had another amazing and full week of ministry and we continue to pray that God will use the seeds we are planting. We praise God that we continue to be in good health; all of us have been thriving here in Kenya.

On Monday, the family split up to do ministry in a few different areas. Mom had some time with the Children’s Home moms and Dad spent time with the wazee (a term used for the men of the house).
At the same time, Titus and Chloe were running some small group Bible studies with the high school boys and girls who were home on a school break.

Meanwhile, I was working on a few video projects for ELI, filming some testimonials. I got to travel to the slums in Turbo, a nearby town, which was very impactful. The residents are living on government properly in tiny shacks made of scraps, and many of them are alcoholics. I filmed there and talked with some leaders about starting a program through ELI to help people out of poverty.

On Tuesday we met up with a team from California who is staying in Ilula, and visited a school about two hours south of us that specializes in helping kids with autism. We did a small program there and met with one of the teachers who was a Children’s Home graduate. We also visited the home of one of the kids with autism to encourage the family.

Wednesday was a sabbath day for our family. We spent most of the day resting, reading, journaling, and spending time at the beautiful training center property. We attended Children’s Home devotionals at night as well.

On Thursday, we met up with the Ilula team once again to visit a women’s prison in Eldoret. We brought instruments and a sound system and worshipped with the around 250 inmates, plus additional staff. A lady from the other team share as a powerful word and gospel message, and ELI cooked a meal for them. We were very well received and it was an impactful day. It was heartbreaking to see about 30 young children who are living there along with their mothers, and to hear that some inmates have bails as low as $20 but cannot afford to pay. Yet many of them love the Lord and they sing beautifully as they worship God.

On Friday, we attended a devotional at Brook of Faith school, where we lead worship and Titus gave a message. We had a slower afternoon and Chloe and Titus had their Bible Study groups again at the Children’s Homes. At night, we visited our good friends the Tarus family for dinner.

Thank you so much for all your prayers and support! We are nearing the end of the trip which is bittersweet, but we praise God for all he has done.
